Introducing 1of 1 Art Studios

Hi,
Thank you for checking out my blog. If you are interested in different mediums of wood carving art this will be the blog for you. I started woodcarving in the winter of 1985. It was a form of rehabilitation for me after a accident I was involved in. I had always been interested in the industrial field of creativity.
I started out by doing a Mallard, 5 inches in length, for my first piece in the round, then a cat, 6 inches tall.
Then a friend of mine (Nels), suggested we try small parts of a dead tree branch that had fallen down on his farm a few years back with some wood burning included with a one dimensional bird or fish carved into it. Then we started to also paint backgrounds on the branches, with and without wood burning the pieces. It was very rewarding for me.
Then one day my wife said you know you have never made two pieces alike.
Everything is a 1of 1 piece. Hence the name.

These are the rules I go by when wood carving.
MY 10 DO's and DONT's of WOODCARVING
I do only commissioned art work. Always have, always will.
I do carve to remind myself how far I have come.
I do carve to remind myself how far I can go.
I do believe in myself, and I must.
I do carve moments in wood.

I don't duplicate work.
I don't produce, I create.
I don't accept time limits.
I don't carve art for the money.
I don't enter carving competitions.

Besides my wife and son, this is my passion, "to create."

My creative concepts, I believe are very unique and that is all I expect from my work and you can decide what you like or dislike in my art that I will be posting as I progress on my pieces. This will be the first year that I will be showing any of my art work that I do for customers, to others.
Excluding my "original rehabilitation pieces" that I will always keep and pass onto my son.

So if you are interested I will be posting some past and current projects and future ideas on my blog. Hope you enjoy the projects. I do appreciate input because I know there are much more talented carvers out there than myself.

If you are interested in something special from your past or would like something commissioned, please let me know. Thanks for reading my blog.
